Man Shoots Himself In The Foot At Oneida Wal Mart

A Canastota man is facing charges after he allegedly shot himself in the foot inside the Wal Mart in Oneida.

Oneida City Police say 23-year old Guthrie Hood was carrying a handgun in his pocket and accidentally shot himself. The bullet lodged in his foot.

The incident happened in one of the toy aisles.

Hood was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Police say Hood has a permit but is not endorsed for concealed carry.  The investigation is continuing.
