The man who suffered a heart attack during Saturday's Heart Run and Walk has passed away.

66-year old Michael Wofford of Glenfield collapsed on Burrstone Road

Two state troopers were stationed nearby and immediately arrived and began life saving measures.

A doctor who happened to be walking by began CPR, and the troopers used a defibrillator on the man.

Wofford had been in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Luke's Hospital and died this morning.

He was a member of the .ARC.Oneida-Lewis Chapter’s team.

The ARC issued the following statement on Wofford's passing

“We are all deeply saddened by Michael’s passing. He enjoyed participation in community events like the Heart Run and Walk. We have been moved by the many, many supporters in our community, including Dick Mattia and his staff at the American Heart and Stroke Association, and those who intervened at the walk to help Michael. He will be greatly missed,” said Karen Korotzer, chief executive officer at The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter.
