Massachusetts Fugitive Arrested in Utica

A wanted fugitive is now in police custody awaiting extradition.

Police in Pittsfield, Massachusetts contacted Utica Police about a shooting suspect that may have been in the area.

Based on the description they had received, police say they recognized eighteen-year-old Thomas Newman while he was walking near Francis Street.

He was arrested on Saturday, August 1, 2015 and formally charged with being a fugitive from justice.
