The local chapter of the American Red Cross has come to the aid of five people following a fire in Floyd.

According to the Mohawk Valley chapter, assistance was provided to five adults residing in a multifamily home on Route 274.

They provided necessities such as shelter, food and clothing. Personal comfort and personal care kits were also give away.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated and the Red Cross will continue to provide assistance on the road to recovery.
