Mattydale Man Arrested On Rape Charges

A Mattydale man has been arrested on rape charges following an investigation by State Police.

Officials say, 23-year-old Richard Smith allegedly forced a 20-year-old woman to have sexual intercourse on several occasions at a Mattydale residence.

Smith is facing charges of Rape in the 1st degree, Criminal Sex Act in the 1st degree and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, a misdemeanor.

He's being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
