A medical emergency was the cause of a one-car crash in the City of Rome. According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office the accident took place on River Road.

Deputies responded to the scene and found that 67-year-old Daniel Pardi of Rome experienced a medical realted incident and lost consciousness. A 16-year-old front seat passenger tried to gain controlled, but was unable to.

As a result the vehicle struck a utility pole along the roadside and the airbags were deployed. Pardi and his passenger were transported to Rome Memorial Hospital for treatment. Deputies were assisted at the scene by New York State and Rome City Police.
