New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - The public is invited to attend services being held today for fallen New Hartford Police Officer Joseph Corr.

Corr was shot and killed in the line of duty six years ago after responding to an armed robbery on Commercial Drive which led to a high speed car chase along Route 5.

The memorial service will take place at 6:00pm at St. John the Evangelist Church on Oxford Road in New Hartford.  The candlelight vigil will follow at 8:15pm behind the Byrne Dairy in Kirkland, marking the spot where Corr was fatally shot.

Three men convicted in the robbery were sentenced to life in prison.  Their accomplice, the man who shot Officer Corr, was later killed in a shoot-out with police in Pennsylvania.
