It's going to be a busy Memorial Day weekend for travel.

Ed Welsh of AAA Central New York says more than 36 million American will be hitting the road to kick off the summer travel season, with 8 out of 10 going by car.

Drivers will be paying about seven cents a gallon less for gas than they were last year at this time.

Welsh says the average price in the Utica-Rome area is $3.80 a gallon, down nine cents over the last two weeks.
