A new business will be moving into the former Met Life building at the Utica Business Park.

Utica Mayor Rob Palmieri says the building has been sold to a private real estate group out of Syracuse.

Palmieri says ORBCOMM, a satellite communications company with a location in New Hartford, will be the building's first tenant.

Initially, there will be 30 employees, with the anticipation of creating an additional five jobs in Utica.

Jeff Foster of Summit Reality says they're currently discussing leasing to two other occupants and they're hoping to be 50% occupied by the end of the year

The Met Life building has been vacant for about two years.
