Canastota, NY (WIBX) - Two Canastota men are facing charges after their meth lab was busted by State Police.

According to investigators with the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Unit, a trooper spotted fire and black smoke coming from the home of Clifford Congdon, 32, on North Main Street in Canastota.

When asked what he was doing, Congdon said he was burning trash. But, during the interview, the trooper saw items in the garage used to make methamphetamine.

Congdon, along with Henry Whitmeyer, 28, were arraigned in the Town of Lenox Court and charged with one count of Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a felony.

They were sent to Madison County Jail.
