The Astros' offense jumped on Jonathan Niese and never looked back, beating the Mets 6-3 to take the first two games of the series at Minute Main Park.

Jed Lowrie touched up Niese for a two-run shot in the first, then Chris Snyder crushed a three-run shot in the second.

Niese fell to to 2-1, after just three innings and five runs.

Andres Torres, Josh Thole and Scott Hairston each had RBI single. David Wright added two hits, putting him a .395 for the season.

J.A. Happ moved to 2-1 with 6 1/3 innings of six hits and three runs. Brett Myers got the save for the second consecutive night, his sixth in as many opportunities. Myers has allowed just one run in eight appearances this year.

The Mets drop to 13-11 and will wrap up their series in Houston on Wednesday afternoon at 2:05.
