There has been much discussion over the weekend about the Chase Utley 'slide' that resulted in Ruben Tejada's broken leg in the Game 2 of the Mets-Dodgers NLDS.

UPDATE: MLB has announced it will not hear Utley's suspension appeal Monday, so he is eligible to play in Game 3

Long story short, while Jon and I recognize the 'take-out' slide has been around for a hundred years, and we don't think it is necessarily dirty to do it, we do think Utley hit the dirt awfully late. And, it was awfully unnecessary, considering there's no way Tejada could have turned-two on that play.

We tried to express that in the video below (It was well thought out, fairly analyzed and included a preview of tonight's Game 3). Sadly, it's a Monday, and she's got a great curveball. Plus, I'm an idiot sometimes! Jon had to hit the road for the day before I realized by mistake!

(Editor's Note: If you don't plug in your audio recording device on Tuesday-thru-Sunday, you will experience the same problems, I'm told!!)
