A team parading around as the New York Mets smacked five home runs out of Yankees Stadium on Monday, as the lesser of New York's two baseball teams earned an 8-5 win and a season split of the 2018 Subway Series.

More surprising that the 'W' may be the fact that the Mets put up some runs for a pitcher they never seem to support - Jacob deGrom - who struck out a dozen over 6 and 2/3 innings. deGrom, who improved to 7-7 on the season, allowed two earned runs, which actually raised his ERA to 1.81 on the season.

Luis Severino suffered the loss to drop to 15-6 on the season, yielding four runs over seven innings.

The Mets hammered out 15 hits - with every player in the lineup getting at least one. Amed Rosario, Todd Frazier, Michael Conforto, Jose Bautista and Brandon Nimmo each went deep.

Miguel Andjuar homered in defeat.

The Mets and Yankees split the 2018 series 3-3.

Aaron Boone's club will stay in the Bronx to begin a series with the Rays Tuesday night.

Mickey Callaway's club heads to Baltimore for a two-game series with the Orioles.
