One the Mets' highly touted pitching prospects is preparing to make his big league debut this week.

Matt Harvey will be officially called up later this week with a scheduled start Thursday against the Diamondbacks in Arizona, according to Mets.com.

The team's site reports: The 6-foot-4, 225-pound University of North Carolina product has made 20 starts for Buffalo this season, going 7-5 with a 3.68 ERA. He has given up 97 hits in 110 innings, with 48 walks and 112 strikeouts.

MLB.com ranks Harvey as the No.2 prospect in the Mets farm system and top 30 league-wide.
