Mid Air Files For Chapter 7 Bankruptcy

Financially-troubled Mid Air USA has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection.

The filing took place in United States Bankruptcy Court in Utica.

Chapter 7 bankruptcy allows debtors to wipe out all debt and get a "fresh start."

Mid Air, which leases space at Griffiss International Airport in Rome, owes Oneida County $600,000 in back rent and utilities. The company temporarily laid off all of its employees at Griffiss last week.
