Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is making his debut as a fight promoter this Friday night. Tyson's latest endeavor has brought him back to the boxing world. Friday night at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino Tyson will make his world debut as a professional promoter when his new "Iron Mike Productions" will present "Tyson Is Back!" at the Turning Stone Event Center, this Friday August 23.

The fight card features two co-main events, both championship bouts pitting IBF Super Featherweight champion Argenis "La Tormenta" Mendez of the Dominican Republic against Arash Usmanee, a native of Afghanistan who now lives in Montreal, Quebec.

As a promoter Tyson was excited for his first event, especially since it will take place in Central New York, a place that holds a lot of memories for the Hall of Famer.

WIBX asked the former champ if being around boxers again made him want to step back into the ring, and how it was being around young fighters.

Friday night's fights will be broadcast on ESPN, the sixth time since 2012 that boxing at the Turning Stone has been nationally televised.
