Milk Tanker Overturns In Vernon

A Hamilton man was injured in an accident involving a milk tanker on Peterboro Street in the Town of Vernon.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 53-year old Michael Briggs lost control of the tanker, which struck an embankment before overturning on the shoulder of the road.

Briggs was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for neck and back pain. His injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

Briggs was issued a traffic citation for speed not reasonable and prudent.

The milk tanker was owned by the Oneida Madison Co-Op.
