A report of a missing man in Darien, New York ended tragically on Christmas.

At about 3:50pm on December 24, 2013 State Police were told that 26-year old Ryan C. Bergman had left home on foot and not properly dressed for the cold weather.

Officers, including K-9 and aviation units, searched into the night.  At 2:30pm the next day, Bergman was found in a wooded area west of ST-77.  He was pronounced dead by Kristine Flanagan, the Genesee County Coroner.

Officials say it does not appear that foul play was involved but the case is still under investigation.

State Police were assisted by the Genesee County Sheriff's Office and fire departments from the towns of Alexander, Alden, and Darien.
