It's not often that things line up perfectly for a journalist. It seems like Murphy's Law always comes into play, whether it's a dead battery, a forgotten press pass or the most dreaded of all... no pen. One reporter was even punched in the face while covering a story.

Still, once in a great while a journalist will haphazardly fall into the perfect situation, as noted in the following video.

The story revolves around the disappearance of Robert McDonough, 73, on Monday. McDonough has dementia and had been missing for several hours before a strange accident occurred.

Norm Karkos was preparing to do a live-spot for WMTW in Portland, Maine, when he was approached by an elderly man who introduced himself as McDonough. Though he had some blood on the elbow of his shirt and his shoes were wet, the man was in good spirits and quickly reunited with his family.
