Missouri Legislator Wants to Make Proposing Gun Laws a Crime

A Missouri state lawmaker wants to make it a crime to propose any gun control legislation. Rep. Mike Leara, a Republican who represents suburban St. Louis, introduced a bill making it a class D felony for any member of the Missouri legislature to propose restricting the ownership or use of firearms. “Any member of the general assembly who proposes a piece of legislation that further restricts the right of an individual to bear arms, as set forth under the second amendment of the Constitution of the United States, shall be guilty of a class D felony,“ Leara’s bill reads.

Interestingly, the representative is asking for his state to trounce on the 1st amendment in order to preserve the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution.  If you think about it, our jails would be filled if we arrested every politician every time he or she introduced a stupid bill.
