With the MLB trade deadline earlier today, several teams around the Majors made some moves, but none more interesting than the Oakland A's.

The A's pulled off a move that gives them one of the better starting rotations in the bigs, acquiring ace John Lester and outfielder Johnny Gomes for slugger Yoenis Cespedes.

The deal ends Lesters's run with the Red Sox, but many insiders think Lester could potentially re-sign with Boston during the off-season.

Elsewhere around the league, the Detroit Tigers picked up All-Star southpaw David Price in a three-team deal that sent Austin Jackson from Detroit to Seattle, while the Rays got lefty Drew Smyly and the Tigers got infielder Nick Franklin.

Also, the Cleveland Indians traded infielder Asdrubal Cabrera to the Washington Nationals  for Zach Walters.

The New York Yankees also got in on the action, making a deal with the rival Red Sox, getting SS Stephen Drew in exchange for Kelly Johnson.
