MMA Bill Passes In The State Senate
Albany, NY (WIBX) – Mixed Martial Arts is one step closer to becoming legal in New York.The state Senate has passed a bill authorizing the State Athletic Commission to regulate the sport.
The vote was 42-to-18.
Similar legislation is pending in an Assembly subcommittee.
The bill died in the Assembly last year.
Supporters of the bill say ultimate fighting will generate more than $2 million in revenue for the state.
