New Hartford Police say a Mohawk man is under arrest after accepting money for a roofing job he never started.

Joseph Holleran, 34, put an ad on Craigslist that was answered by a Village resident in mid-October of 2012.

After receiving $800 from the victim, Holleran never bought materials or did any work, even after being contacted several times.

He was arrested by Ilion Police during a traffic stop and turned over to New Hartford Police. Holleran was charged with one count of petit larceny and sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility.

Officials urge anyone who may had a similar problem with Holleran to contact the New Hartford Police Department at (315) 733-6666.
