Mohawk Valley Celebrates National Wear Red Day
The color of the day is red.
Today is the American Heart Association’s 11th annual National Wear Red Day.
Participants wear red, donate $5 to the Go Red for Women movement and get a pin to help raise awareness of heart disease.
Several local businesses and organizations will be “going red” tonight to help raise awareness.
That includes Utica City Hall, Rome City Hall, the Utica Fire Department, First Source Federal Credit Union, Carbone Auto Group, Gilroy, Kernan & Gilroy Insurance and Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Varick Street in Utica will also go red with a “Wear Red Pub Crawl” to raise money for the Heart Association.
