The Mohawk Valley Region will be getting over $82 million under the latest round of Regional Economic Development Council funding..

Governor Andrew Cuomo made the announcement this morning in Albany.

The Mohawk Valley was named a Top Performer in the third round of REDC funding.

Projects awarded economic development funding include $5 million for the City of Utica's Harbor Point Project and $3.2 million to continue development of the Marcy Nano Center site.

Meanwhile, $3.1 million will help establish a new workforce development and training center at Quad-C on the SUNY IT campus.

Over $715 million is being awarded to ten regions across the state.

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi calls today's announcement is excellent news.
