Oneida, Herkimer and Madison counties are expected to see several inches of snow, mixed with ice and/or sleet this week.

A Winter Storm Watch is in place Tuesday into Wednesday across the Mohawk Valley. In Oneida and Madison counties the watch is in effect Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning. In Herkimer County, Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service is predicting a storm bringing 5-9 inches of snow, along with some freezing rain and ice for Oneida and Madison counties - including Utica, Rome, Oneida, Boonville and Oneonta. Winds gusts of upto 35 mph bring an additional risk of power outages, forecasters warn.

In Herkimer County, NWS is calling for 7 or more inches of snow. Tuesday night freezing rain and sleet could mix in. The watch for places like Ilion, Mohawk, Herkimer, Little Falls and Frankfort does not mention concern over high winds.
