Customers of the Mohawk Valley Water Authority will see a slight increase in their bills under the proposed budget for the next fiscal year.

The budget reduces overall spending to partially offset the rate hike.

The 2.9% increase would equate to about $10.44 a year for the average homeowner or 87 cents a month.

It would take effect on April 1st.

A public hearing on the proposed budget will take place on January 21st at 5:00 at Utica City Hall.
