The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has granted the Mohawk Valley Water Authority a permit to expand water service to residents and businesses in the towns of Frankfort, Schuyler, Kirkland and Westmoreland.

MVWA officials says the expansion of water service will provide safe, dependable drinking water to residents.

They say the extended water access will also allow the towns to seize opportunities for business development and growth.

The discussions with the DEC throughout this application process have helped to define a clear path for expanding water service as our region welcomes increased economic development opportunities,” said MVWA Executive Director Patrick J. Becher.
