More Than 1 Million Register For STAR [VIDEO]

After just six weeks, 1 million homeowners have registered with New York State for their basic STAR exemptions.

More than 90% of those have registered on the New State Tax Department's website.

Basic STAR saves New York homeowners an average of $700 a year.

Governor Cuomo says this registration will ensure that homeowners only receive a STAR exemption for their primary residence.

Seniors who receive Enhanced STAR are not effected by the registration.
