Loudonville, NY (WIBX) - A Siena Research Institute poll shows that New Yorkers think that Governor Andrew Cuomo is doing a good job.

Despite financial woes that appear to be strangling growth in many sectors of the economy New Yorkers are standing behind their governor.  Sixty-nine percent have a favorable opinion of him, with sixty-one percent giving him either an "A" or "B" grade.

The Governor's approval ratings have changed only a few percentage points from last year.

The state legislature, on the other hand, is not viewed quite as favorably.  However both houses have improved their ratings from 2011 when each house had a two-to-one negative rating.
