A zoo isn't typically a place that comes to mind to take-in a movie, but the Utica Zoo will host a screening of an Oscar nominated animated children's film next week.

The zoo is partnering with Nomad Cinema - a local traveling outdoor movie theatre - for a showing of 'Ferdinand' on Monday night - Aug. 20, 2018. Admission for the movie begins at 7:30 p.m. and the screening will start at 9:00 p.m., according to zoo officials.

'Ferdinand' is a film about a Scottish bull with a big heart who is mistaken for a dangerous beast. He is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure, according to IMDB.com.

Tickets for the movie are $5 general admission and $3 for Utica Zoo members. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.
