LOS ANGELES (AP) — MTV is heralding the start of summer viewing season with its Movie & TV Awards.

The show is recognizing men and women of TV and film together for the first time at Sunday's ceremony.

TV shows are newly eligible for the Golden Popcorn trophy in almost all categories. Men and women will also compete together in the acting categories.

The show is keeping up its traditional irreverence, though, with awards recognizing the best hero, villain, kiss and duo across television and film.

The horror hit "Get Out" leads all nominees with six bids, including movie of the year.

Actor Adam Devine is hosting the show, which will be broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
