Mohawk Valley Community College has officially launched its newest degree program -- small Unmanned Aerial Systems.

The announcement was made today at Griffiss International Airport in Rome.

MVCC's Associate of Applied Science degree will offer students the opportunity to work as pilots, operators or mission team members of small unmanned aircraft.

The program will be offered beginning in the fall 2016 semester on MVCC’s Utica Campus.

According to an industry report, the emerging technology is expected to generate over $82 billion in economic impact nationally in the next decade.
