Utica, NY (WIBX) - Mohawk Valley Community College is partnering with AIDS Community Resources for a special cause.

Tomorrow night, MVCC's "If Club" will commemorate World AIDS Day by hosting a candlelight vigil and a balloon release at Payne Hall. The event also features a talk by Shannon Brown, who is living with HIV.

Jean Kessner, an official with AIDS Community Resources, says the event sends an important message.

"34 million people in the world  are living with HIV," Kessner said. "More than 30 million have died from it, and there is still no cure."

The event begins at 6 p.m. and is open to the public.
