Utica, NY (WIBX) - Mohawk Valley Community College isn't crying about it's latest child care assessment.

The college's Kiddie Campus Child Care Center recently earned national accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Scoring perfect scores in nine of ten categories, MVCC's facility is the only one in Oneida County to have that designation. Roughly 60 percent of all SUNY Campus Child Care Centers are accredited.

Jerylann George, Director of Child Care Services at the center, says she is grateful for all of the work her staff has done.

The four-step accreditation process began in the spring of 2009, and included a self-study and visit from an NAEYC Assessor.
