Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce has a new Executive Director. Pamela Matt, an Employment and Business Lawyer, was just named to the post following a national search to find a replacement of the company's former president, Frank Elias. Matt is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who moved to the area 10 years ago. She says the Mohawk Valley is a great place for business.

"It's also a great place for family. You have the Arts, you have atlethics, you have community non-for-profits, it's just a very welcoming community. And, I've always been in the field of business and I just want to be an abassador to make it the very best for business and for people relocating here," she said.

Matt says she's looking to build partnerships for "value added services" and to promote Chamber members. Also, she says the Chamber just put in an application to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for Accreditation, in an effort to promote the work they do on a national level.
