Mohawk Valley Health System has finalized the site plan for its proposed Downtown Utica Hospital.

MVHS officials say as a result, three properties that were originally identifed for use are no longer within the campus boundaries.

Those properties are Eggers, Caryl and Corrigan, Rockford Auto Glass and a building owned by the Orange Tree LLC.

Officials recently met with the property owners to let them know that their properties were no longer in the final site plan.

“We know this process has been challenging for the business and property owners and we appreciate their patience as we have been working through this complex project,” said Scott. H. Perra, president/CEO of MVHS. “Designing for a new healthcare campus is an interesting experience; we are designing from the inside out, first looking at the processes to care for the patients and then designing the space to provide the care. We reviewed a number of scenarios for how the hospital footprint, parking garage and parking areas would fit into the final site plan; once we had that completed, we could reach out to the property owners.”

MVHS officials are now working to coordinate a date for a public announcement on the revised site plan.

The plan includes refinement of the campus boundaries and the placement and size of the hospital.
