Oneida County, NY (WIBX) - The Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council will receive $60.2 million for its Strategic Plan.

The Development Council, made up of six counties, including Oneida and Herkimer, submitted a plan in November identifying 13 projects for state funding.

Ten regional councils across the state competed for $1 billion in state economic funding made available by Governor Cuomo.

Of that money, $130 million in capital funds are immediately available, while another $70 million will become available in the form of Excelsior Tax Credits.

The 21 member committee was co-chaired by SUNYIT president Wolf Yeigh, and featured educational, business and communtiy leaders from across the region.
