Utica, NY (WIBX) - 59 projects will receive a portion of the $60.2 million in state resources, recently awarded to the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council.

According to the group, projects were chosen based upon the region's vision statement and strategies. Those strategies include enhancing region concentrations, increasing spatial efficiency and strengthening government and civic effectiveness.

The projects were spread across six counties, including Oneida and Herkimer and are meant to capitalize in the Mohawk Valley's strengths, including agriculture, tourism and information technology.
