Utica, NY (WIBX) -The Mohawk Valley Water Authority continues to work to clear up discolored water coming from its system.Higher than normal levels of maganese coming from the Hinckely Reservoir are causing the discoloration.

Water Authority Executive Director Pat Beecher says a new chemical they've been adding to the filtration process seems to be doing the trick.

He says the water being sent out through the system has been greatly improved over the past few days.

Beecher is also re-assuring residents that the water poses no health risks.

Beecher was a guest on Friday morning's First Look show on WIBX.
