The Mohawk Valley Water Authority will be holding a public hearing on Monday, October 22nd a proposed two-percent rate hike.

The hearing will take place at 5:00 in the MVWA's board room on the third floor of Utica City Hall.

The MVWA is citing an overall increase in operating costs and capital maintenance and repairs funded at $600,000 as reasons for the increase.

The rate hike would mean an increase of around $7.84 cents a year for the average household, or about 65 cents a month

If approved, it would take effect on January 1st.
