Utica, NY (WIBX) -Munson-Williams Proctor Art Institute has a new President. Anthony J. Spiridigloizzi has been named President after serving as Vice President and Treasurer. A Utica native--Spiridigloizzi has been with the institute for 29 years. Since January of this year, he has served as Acting President, following the resignation of President Daniel O'Leary. Spiridigloizzi says he looks forward to continuing the work that's been done over this year.

"Our focus as we go forward is going to be on giving our visitors the best possible experience. Wedded Perfection, our exhibition of two centuries of wedding gowns, and our current exhibition on view now, Ansel Adams, is really two great examples of the kind of programming that's been very very popular in the community." Spiridigloizzi goes on to say, “We will improve visitor services and present exhibitions, classes and performances that have broader appeal while we maintain the quality that has always defined us."

O'Leary served 18 months as the group's president, before resigning and relocating to Portland, Maine earlier this year. Spiridigloizzi says the next exhibit will be a Lithe Graphic Show in March, featuring about 200 original works of art.
