Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Oneida County NAACP is announcing two community events this weekend to celebrate the joys of diversity and educate people about local black history.

Saturday afternoon at 1:00, the group is sponsoring its annual Black History Program. This year’s theme is “From Hope to Reality, A focus on Education.”

 Held at MVCC’s Alumni College Center, this event is open to the public and free to attend.

Saturday night at 6:00, Daniele’s at Valley View will host the NAACP’s second annual Diversity Affair. The semi-formal event celebrating friendship and diversity begins with a dinner followed by entertainment.

Tickets to attend the Diversity Affair are $30 per person, or $240 for a table of eight.
