Nine people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Route 31 in Verona around 8:30 Thursday morning near VVS High School.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 61 year old Murithi Mudey lost control of his vehicle on Route 31 and drifted into the opposite lane where it was t-boned by 46 year old Sherri Card's vehicle.

Mudey was traveling with seven passengers all of whom, including Card, were brought to a local hospital with minor to serious injuries.

Mudey was ticketed for failure to keep right.

The passengers in Mudey's vehicle are Hawa Abukar 44, Amina Osman 32, Arbay Sabow 50, Di Di 37, Isho Arbow 44, Bishara Mohamed 32 and Haji Adan 46.
