Washington, DC (WIBX) - The DEA is announcing that more than $36 million in assets have been seized in the first nationwide crackdown on bath salts.

The Drug Enforcement Agency presided over a multi-agency investigation that served more than 265 search warrants in ninety cities in thirty states yesterday.

The local Tebb's Head Shops were closed yesterday as part of the raid.

Almost five million packages of synthetic drugs and bath salts were seized along with weapons, cash, and other property.

Both distributors and manufacturers were hit by the raid.

The DEA said that the investigation is ongoing.
