National Grid has established a hotline to help expedite the restoration of power to customers affected by the recent flooding.

They're reminding customers meters cannot be re-energized until repairs have been made by the homeowner.

Any service -- both gas and electric -- that was affected by flooding must be inspected prior to service restoration as a safety precaution.

Once repairs and inspections are complete, National Grid urges customers to contact them to request a relight of gas service or a turn on of electric service.

The hotline number is 1-800 642-4272.
