The color of the day in Rome on Friday was Red.

The American Heart Association's National Wear Red Day Luncheon was held at the Beeches Inn and Conference Center.

The event is held to raise awareness about heart disease and strokes in women.n

Featured speakers included Loretta Myers, Director of Emergency and Critical Care Services at Rome Memorial Hospital, and the mother of a congenital heart defect survivor, and local heart attack survivor Patricia Cummings.

Meanwhile, more than 60 local landmarks and buildings, including Townsquare Media, will be lit in red tonight to help raise awareness to women’s heart health.
