(WIBX950 Sports)   Regan Smith pulled off a huge NASCAR upset on Saturday by holding off Carl Edwards in a two-lap overtime finish to win Saturday's Showtime Southern 500 at Darlington.Smith, originally from Cato New York, took over the lead when he opted not to pit when most of the other leaders stopped under caution in the closing laps.  After a restart, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Clinton Bowyer made contact, with Bowyer slamming hard into the inside wall.  Busch then bumped into Harvick and sent him into the outside wall.

The crash set up a green-white-checkered finish.  Smith quickly pulled away from Edwards after the final restart and managed to hold off Edwards at the finish by 0.2 seconds for his first win in 105 career Sprint Cup Starts.
