Nearly 3,500 New Yorkers Use New On-Line Voting Site

Albany, NY (WIBX) – Governor Andrew Cuomo says nearly 3,500 New Yorkers have used the Department of Motor Vehicle’s new online voter registration service.
Cuomo says that number includes more than a thousand first time voters.
The initiative was announced earlier this month and for the first time ever allows New Yorkers to register on a secure online site.
The move was made because New York is ranked 47th in the nation in voter registration.
Less than 64% of eligible residents registered to vote.
