A New Hartford man is facing DWI charges after crashing his vehicle into a home on Burrstone Road.

According to New York Mills Police, the accident occurred just before 4:00 p.m. on Monday. A 2016 Jeep being driven by Matthew T. Sullivan crashed into the home at 58 Burrstone Road.

Police say Sullivan allegedly ran the redlight at the intersection of Pulaski Street and Burrstone Road. As a result Sullivan crashed into the residence and upon further investigation, Officer Robert Frankland discovered the man intoxicated in the driver's seat.

Officer Frankland had to break the glass of the vehicle to pull Sullivan out of the vehicle.

Sullivan was taken into custody and is charged with DWI, failure to stop at a stop sign, refusal to submit to a breath test and resisting arrest.
